In order to be fiscally responsible, SJB has had to reduce its workforce by two full time teachers and three part-time teachers. This reduction is for two reasons, 1) We will lose one of our largest grades this year. Eighth grade currently has 37 students and requires two classes. By comparison, next year we will only have an eighth grade class of 25, and 2) We have been negatively impacted by the economy. For the past two years, we have had to freeze all teacher and staff salaries. Recognizing that the actual cost to educate students exceeds tuition rates, we want to pare down our expenses. This leaner workforce will encourage us to be more creative in our staffing patterns and will allow us to adapt to enrollment trends quicker. Rest assured the school is, and will remain, an integral part of our parish family. Read the School Transition Letter sent on May 21.
Guidelines are now available on the Archdiocese of Milwaukee/Schools website.
Parents are encouraged to schedule an appointment to have their child immunized this spring in order to avoid the summer rush at doctor’s offices and public health clinics. A suggested donation of $5 for each injection administered at Public Health Clinics to help cover the cost of immunization programming is requested. No one will be denied services due to an inability to make a donation. View "Got Your Shots" info.
