What does love look like?

It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has the eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like.

~St. Augustine of Hippo

Bereavement and Grief Support

Bereavement Ministry - We are not meant to grieve alone. Bereavement Ministry is the liaison between the Church and families who are experiencing the death of a loved one. The experience of grief while mourning a loss can be shared with others and the sorrow eased through this ministry. St. Thomas Aquinas and St. John the Baptist parishes have joined together to establish a combined bereavement ministry for our faith communities.

RESOURCES AND FEATURED ARTICLES:

Prayers

St. John the Baptist Prayer Ministry volunteers offer prayers of spiritual support and healing for parishioners and their families and friends. Prayer requests can be anonymous or named, personal or for someone or something else.

If you would like a team to hear and pray for your prayer requests: Email - PrayerRequest@sjbplymouth.org (link below), call the parish office at 920-892-4006, or write your request in the prayer book in the back of the church

To join a team of prayer warriors email compassionatehearts@sjbplymouth.org

Home or Hospital Visits

Those who are sick or confined to home or to healthcare facilities are valuable members of our faith community and we seek to provide comfort, support and connection to our parish family for those individuals. St. John the Baptist Compassionate Hearts Ministry helps many of our seniors or home-bound members through weekly visits. They offer companionship and prayer. The St. Vincent de Paul Society brings communion and prayer to people who cannot, for various reasons, attend Mass on Sunday. Arrangements for a priest visit for the sacrament of confession or anointing of the sick are made through the parish office.

Financial Hardship

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and School through St. Vincent de Paul Outreach, offers and provides support and services to our community. Through prayer, financial assistance, counseling, mentoring, and in-kind help through our SVdP Community Store we help people in need.
