St. John the Baptist School offers many ways for students to get involved and increase a sense of belonging in school, church, and community. We encourage our students to respect themselves and others as God-given gifts to the world. Extracurricular activities continue to build the Christ-like character of our children after school hours.

Learning to play a musical instrument is a valuable experience. Students come to appreciate good music through familiarity with specific compositions; they will receive enjoyment and a sense of satisfaction by being a member of a musical group. St. John the Baptist’s band program offers children in grades 5-8 the opportunity to learn an instrument and perform as part of a group.
Students who participate in drama at St. John the Baptist are able to explore their talents on and off the stage. Students in grades 3-9 are able to audition and perform in each production. Middle school students who do not like to perform but would like to participate are able to take on stage crew roles. Each and every participant is an important and valued part of creating our wonderful shows!
Students are invited to share their musical talents by participating in this music-rich, faith-based youth choir. Youth choir offers opportunities for students to express and develop musical talents and carry these skills through adulthood.
St. John the Baptist’s forensics program for grades 6-8 offers students an opportunity to develop research skills, critical thinking skills, organizational skills, persuasion skills, and oral communication skills. The skills that our students acquire in Forensics also prepares them for high school and beyond, including for various careers that require someone to think critically and to have good communication skills.
Student Council gives students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body. They help share student ideas, interests and concerns with the school-wide community.
St. John the Baptist strives to provide a healthy experience for our students, both in mind and body. By participating in fitness or running clubs, students have the opportunity to engage in fellowship and healthy habits while enjoying a variety of forms of exercise.
