Seven members of St. Thomas Aquinas and St. John the Baptist are joining seven others on a pilgrimage in August with World Mission Ministries to experience the life, faith, and culture of Tanzania, East Africa through partnership with Zeru Zeru Ministries. We will be visiting the Mary Mother of God of Perpetual Help Center—a ministry serving children and families affected by albinism. This 14-day immersion blends mission, culture, and beauty—from the savannas of the Serengeti to the prayerful rhythm of Lamadi and the coastal life of Zanzibar.
We are preparing to collect items to take with us for the children at Mother of God Perpetual Center and we are asking St. John the Baptist parish members "to fill our suitcase." Please check out the display near the suitcase in the Gathering Place to see what items we are requesting. The collection will end on July 11/12; World Mission Sunday.
In 2018, under the guidance of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, World Mission Ministries, St. John the Baptist and St. Thomas Aquinas formed a twinning relationship with ZeruZeru. Twinning relationships with parishes, villages or organizations in other countries offer parish communities an opportunity to grow in solidarity with sisters and brothers in other countries and around the world.
Missionary Cooperative Plan Appeal - World Mission Sunday
There will be a second collection for ZeruZeru Inc. during Mass the weekend of July 11 & 12. Please plan to support our twinning relationship with ZeruZeru, Inc. generously, whatever that means for you. There will be envelopes available at the church entrances the weekend of the appeal and stapled into the bulletin the weekend prior. Please write checks payable to the parish and include “Missionary Appeal - ZeruZeru Inc.” in the memo line. You can also donate through our parish online giving platform using the Give Online link below. Your support helps the Mary Mother of God Center continue to operate.
Asante sana (thank you very much)!
