The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is a ritual of healing appropriate not only for physical, but also for mental and spiritual sickness. Through the sacrament of anointing, Christ strengthens the faithful who are afflicted by illness.

Receiving the Sacrament of the Sick helps in healing and provides strength. The Church’s Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick tells us there is no need to wait until a person is at the point of death to receive the Sacrament. A careful judgment about the serious nature of the illness (or suffering) is sufficient. St. John the Baptist offers Anointing of the Sick every 5th Sunday after 9:30 am Mass.
