Order of Christian Initiation of Adults
The process by which adults come into the Church is known as “OCIA”, which is short for “The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults.”
OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a process by which new members are welcomed into the Catholic Church. It forms a community of inquirers, moving through the education, formation, and ritualization of entrance into the Catholic community. Those interested in learning about the Catholic faith come together to learn about the scriptures and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and discover where God is present in their lives.
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is a formation process for participants to grow in their relationship with God. The journey is open to adults from many different backgrounds: those never baptized, those baptized in another Christian faith who want to learn more about the Catholic Faith, Catholics who have not received Eucharist and/or confirmation, and adult Catholics wishing to grow in their own Catholic faith. Visit Catholics Come Home and discover the history, beauty, spirituality, and accomplishments of the Catholic Church, founded by Jesus Christ more than 2,000 years ago!
